Meet Dr. Alexandra Sowa

For more than a decade, Dr. Alexandra Sowa has practiced at the intersection of internal medicine and obesity science — long before GLP-1 medications became front-page news. Trained at Johns Hopkins and NYU School of Medicine, she built her career on a simple conviction: that metabolic health deserves the same rigor, nuance, and compassion as any other field of medicine.

What she saw in traditional practice wasn't working. Patients were handed prescriptions with no guidance, no nutritional strategy, no follow-through. The system treated weight as a willpower problem, not a medical one. So she built something different — a structured, physician-led approach that would eventually become the SoWell Method.

She is the author of The Ozempic Revolution, the first comprehensive patient guide to GLP-1 medications, and a regular contributor to outlets like CNN, Good Morning America, The New York Times, and CNBC.

Everything I've built comes back to one philosophy.

The research. The book. The national conversations. The clinical practice. All of it leads to the same place: the SoWell Method.

A physician-led, whole-person approach to metabolic health — treating you as a complete human being, not just a patient with a prescription. Nutrition, behavioral science, and sustainable lifestyle design, grounded in over a decade of clinical evidence.

This is what I built because it's what my patients deserved. And it's what I want for you.
